The Seven Stages of Dinner

February 9, 2015 · 3 Comments

The majority of my day centers around feeding something.  If I am not actively preparing food I am thinking about what I'm going to make, shopping for what I'm going to make, or cleaning up what I just made.  And yet despite three meals and one healthy (relatively) snack every single day, my children are non-stop ravenous, insatiable beasts. Until dinner, that is.  That's ...

We Got Crabs.

January 22, 2015 · 6 Comments

From the moment my kids could speak they have begged me for a dog.  Which is unfortunate for them because:  A.  My husband is deathly allergic to fur, and B.  I am at maximum capacity for cleaning poop. Plus we already had all ...

The beginner’s guide to surviving three babies in thirty months (also, an open letter to old men at grocery stores everywhere)

August 11, 2014 · 7 Comments

As my kids file out of my mini van like clowns out of a VW bug, it's hard to believe that a few years ago I cried myself to sleep at night, unsure if I would ever be able to have a baby.  But, thanks to the miracle of modern medicine, lots of prayer and Dongo the Voodoo priestess, here I am with a 5, almost 4 and almost 3-year-old beautiful girls. I've become so accustomed ...
